We utilize Class Dojo for communication with families and keeping track of behavior, work habits, and citizenship. Students earn positive points for good behavior and skills and negative points for not following the expectations of the classroom and school. The number of points they earn determines privileges and consequences. Each classroom has their own point system for this. The students have the opportunity to earn many rewards and privileges for doing their job as a student in a school to the best of their ability. There will be consequences if they cannot follow the expectations. We believe this will help prepare them for the adult world outside the school doors.
In both classrooms, things such as snack, recess, parties, and Friday activity are earned with positive Dojo points. Negative points are awarded for behavior such as bad language, not working, disrespect (of staff and peers), and inappropriate physical contact with others.
